Bold Prediction No. 2

141 No. 2 Nick Lee will win a B1G title

You might be asking yourself “How is this a bold prediction?” As always, you ask excellent questions. Let me ask you this; Do you know how many times Nick Lee has won a B1G title at 141? Certainly if you follow Penn State Wrestling closely you will know the answer. But I would be willing to bet casual wrestling fans* won’t know the answer.

None.

Lee has finished runner-up once (2020) and took third place twice (2017 and 2018). And like all of you, I thought last year was the year but unfortunately Ohio State’s Luke Pletcher was able to connect on a high shot on Lee with :30 remaining in the 3rd period to take a 6-5 decision. Thrilling match for sure, but Penn State fans were really pulling for Lee to finally get over the hump.

My prediction is this is Nick Lee’s year. He’s going to have some difficult competition along the way as Iowa’s Jaydin Eierman sits at No. 1 and Rutgers’ ever-dangerous Sebastian Rivera holds down the No. 3 spot. But Lee is a relentless wrestler who never stops coming at you and he’s constantly looking to attack.
