9. Noah Cain

Sophomore running back Noah Cain looked poised for a big year in 2020 after Journey Brown was ruled out with a rare heart condition, however an injury on the first drive of the season would sideline him for the year.

Cain rushed for 443 yards and eight touchdowns in his freshman campaign in a crowded backfield. That season too was hampered by injuries as Cain missed the final few games of the season with an ankle injury.

The former IMG Academy standout is a downhill, one-cut runner who is great in short yardage but also has the speed to break long runs and is by far the most talented back the Nittany Lions have. How healthy he is come September, and whether or not he can stay healthy is the question.

If Penn State Football gets a full season out of Cain, they could have one of the best running games in the country.
