Way too early 2021 Big Ten power rankings | Where does Penn State Football stand?

Scott Frost returned home to Nebraska, as the prodigal son who was going to return the Cornhuskers to glory,but has yet to even reach a bowl game as the head coach of his alma mater.

If a 3-5 season wasn’t bad enough in 2020, the offseason has seemingly been worse for the program as 15 players have already entered the transfer portal, set to leave Nebraska. Most notably, quarterback Luke McCaffrey who saw time in relief of Adrian Martinez, including beating Penn State football in week4.

Even more troubling, “Mr. All Everything” for the Huskers wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson has announced he will transfer to Kentucky. Robinson led the team in receiving, with more then double the yards of the next player, and was fourth in rushing yards.

Losing firepower on offense, including the quarterback who may have taken over as ‘the guy’ next season doesn’t bode well for a drastic turnaround in Lincoln. Coupled with a defense that has struggled since Frost has arrived, could mean their bowl-less streak will live again next season.

Frost has recruited well, consistently bringing in top 25 classes, however they have not been able to translate that to wins on the field.
