3 Penn State Football takeaways as Will Levis enters the transfer portal
Where will Levis end up next?
Levis was a three star recruit who had a handful of power five offers coming out of high school in the 2018 class, headlined by Penn State football, Florida State and Iowa.
It will be interesting to see where Levis eventually calls his next home, as he has proven he is limited as a passer and fair to question if he is worthy of being a starting quarterback at the power five level.
Expect the former Nittany Lion to garner interest from the group of five level, as he could be a good fit in the MAC or AAC where the level of defense is just not up to the same par as the Big Ten. Levis had offers from MAC schools such as Ball State, Ohio and Toledo and could be a dominant force as a dual threat quarterback in that conference.
Ball State would be a very intriguing destination as Penn State football hosts the Cardinals in week 2 of next season, and return almost all of their starters from a team that won the mac championship in 2020.
College football fans will remember the name Jordan Lynch, who played quarterback at Northern Illinois from 2011-’13. Lynch had a storied career for the Huskies, breaking the regular season NCAA rushing record for a quarterback in 2012. Levis and Lynch have comparable playing styles and size, as he could be a good example of what Levis could potentially do at that level.
