Whats next for the quarterback room?

With Will Levis out of the picture, Penn State Football will only has three scholarship quarterbacks on the roster at the moment, begging the question most fans were already wondering, will they look to the portal?

Franklin mentioned in his end of season wrap up press conference last week that the program needed to develop the third quarterback and figure out who is the fourth. Right now, without a fourth quarterback it would be fair to think they will look to the portal.

We wrote last week, that former Texas Tech quarterback Alan Bowman could be an intriguing option for Penn State football, as he is the the most proven and talented option currently sitting in the portal.

However, this is presumably good news for young quarterback Ta’Quan Roberson who at the moment makes the jump to second on the depth chart behind Clifford, and could be talented enough to really push Clifford in spring/summer camps to be the week 1 starter when the team travels to Wisconsin.

Roberson is a former four star recruit out of New Jersey who has only thrown one pass in his career thus far, however could be a great fit in Yurcich’s spread offense as scouts have touted his arm strength and passing abilities. He is also a great athlete that poses a dual threat to defenses.
