Former Penn State Basketball shooting guard Josh Reaves is back sporting the traditional #23!

Reaves was signed by the G-League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers, as they anounced their 2020-2021 Official Roster. Reaves was named to their 12-man roster as part of the NBA’s G-League season that will be played in Orlando this year.

While no schedule hasn’t been released yet, the belief is the first games will tip off February 8th.  There have been 17 of 28 G League teams opted into this season thus far, and the teams will play approximately 15 games.

Josh Reaves last played four games in that same Orlando bubble for the Dallas Mavericks at the end of last season. Reaves averaged two points, shooting 33.33% from the field and 100.00% from the free throw stripe.

The Rio Grande Valley Vipers roster also includes two-way players Mason Jones (Arkansas) and Brodric Thomas (Truman).  Other memorable names include former Oregon star Kenny Wooten, Armoni Brooks (Houston) and Ray Spalding (Louisville).

With the Memphis Grizzlies recently signing Tim Frazier, and Lamar Stevens playing a significant role for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Penn State pipeline to the professional ranks is as strong as ever.   We’ll keep eye out for Tony Carr in the G-League as more rosters are announced..  Shep Garner recently inked a contract to play in Argentina.
