Ex-Penn State Football running back Miles Sanders was instrumental in the Philadelphia Eagles’ win Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, eclipsing 100 yards

Former Penn State Football running back Miles Sanders continues to be among the Philadelphia Eagles’ most important offensive weapons, and he was a critical part of Sunday’s victory over the New Orleans Saints.

Sanders broke the back of the Saints’ rushing defense, becoming the first player since 2017 to rush for over 100 yards against New Orleans.

Eclipsing 100 yards for just the second time this season, Sanders rushed for 115 yards on 14 carries, including breaking loose off tackle for an 82-yard touchdown run.

Sanders would later add a two-yard touchdown plunge that sealed the Eagles’ 24-21 victory.

After the game, Sanders credited newly-inserted rookie starting quarterback Jalen Hurts for springing him on the big run, as well as a critical block from tight end Zach Ertz.

"“That was a regular inside zone [run],” Sanders told reporters. “They’d been playing over the top the whole time, letting the linebackers hit certain gaps, but I think the frontside linebacker hit the wrong gap and I just took it out the front and Zach Ertz had a hell of a block, made one guy miss, and off to the house I go.”"

Through 10 games this season, Sanders is on pace to eclipse 1,000 yards rushing for the first time in his career, with 132 carries for 746 yards and five rushing touchdowns.
