Penn State Basketball led for more than forty minutes but were unable to hold the lead when it mattered as Seton Hall won 98-92 in overtime.

Penn State Basketball built a 19 point lead in the first half thanks to seven first half threes, but the fast start wasn’t enough for the Nittany Lions in a six-point loss to Seton Hall Sunday night.

Seton Hall looked the part of a tired team, but some sloppy play late in the half combined with questionable end of half management allowed the Pirates to cut the lead to 11.  The second half started the same way as Seton Hall scored, stole the in bound pass and scored again. The Pirates took a one point lead at one point but the Lions still held a second half lead, between one and six points almost the entire half.

A Myles Dread three put the Lions up 8 with 3 minutes to go, and Penn State maintained that lead after a Myreon Jones layup with 1:58 left.  Seton Hall then went on an 8-0 run to tie the game, including some questionable shots by Penn State early in the shot clock.

After Sessoms and Jones missed jumpers in the last possession, Penn State Basketball had to survive a last second three by Seton Hall, which clanged off the rim.

Just like the second half, Penn State led the majority of the overtime session until Seton Hall took their first lead on a Shavar Reynolds three with 45 seconds remaining.  Sessoms drew the foul but missed the first free throw, his second straight game with a costly late game miss from the line.  Seton Hall, which struggled from the free throw line all game, made five clutch shots in a row and Penn State fell 98-92.
