Penn State Football fell to 0-4 on the season this past Saturday in a game that was full of surprises, and none of them good for the program.

In a season that all Penn State football fans would like to forget, the Nittany Lions saw their record fall to 0-4 on the road against Nebraska on Saturday. Penn State came into this game looking to get back on track, but they struggled from the get-go, and could not stage the comeback late.

Here are three big surprises from the Penn State loss on Saturday.

Time to sit down Sean Clifford

The Penn State Nittany Lions went into the 2020 season with College Football Playoff aspirations, but those have evaporated through the first four games. Penn State headed to Nebraska sitting at 0-3, but with a good chance t get their season on track, something they were unable to do after falling behind at the half.

A big reason for Nebraska’s lead was the play of Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford, who had an early interception, and then fumbled the ball away. The fumble was returned for a touchdown, and he was replaced by sophomore Will Levis, who nearly led the Nittany Lions all the way back.

Going into the Iowa game at home next weekend, it is time for the team to hand the ball to Levis for the rest of the season.
