Penn State football falls to an unthinkable 0-4 after loosing to Nebraska 30-23 Saturday afternoon in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Penn State Football did the unthinkable Saturday afternoon, losing there fourth straight to open the season, falling to 0-4 with a loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Even after outgaining Nebraska 501 yards to 298, turnovers and poor red zone offense were to much to overcome for the Nittany Lions.

Here are three takeaways from todays loss to the Huskers.

Will Levis steps in

After starting the game 5-of-8 for 37 yards with two turnovers, one being a fumble that led to a scoop and score for the Huskers, Penn State head coach James Franklin benched quarterback Sean Clifford in favor of redshirt sophomore Will Levis.

Clifford was inaccurate once again, throwing  an interception on the first drive of the game where he had wide receiver Jahan Dotson open, but just threw it behind him and right to the defender.

In came Levis.

The offense seemed to find a rhythm will Levis under center, fighting back from a three touchdown deficit. Levis finished the game 14-of-31 passing for 219 yards, while also rushing for 61 yards. The running game has much more success with Levis in the game, ultimately rushing for 245 yards and two touchdowns.

Levis led the Nittany Lions back to within a touchdown, only to see back to back red zone opportunities fall short. Levis could not finish the job, yet he was good enough to deserve a chance to start a game and lead this team, making him the most deserving option to start next week when Penn State hosts the Iowa Hawkeyes.
