Journey Brown and Noah Cain are both out for the season, and so far Penn State has struggled to run the ball without them.

The team had to abandon  the run against Ohio State, as they got down early. Devyn Ford was the only running back to receive a carry in that game, getting eight of them.

If Penn State wants to establish a run game going forward, they may need a bruiser like Lee to get it going. It’s unclear what the future holds for Brown and Cain, so Penn State needs to prepare Lee and fellow freshman Caziah Holmes for an important role next season.

Ford should stay as the feature back for now, but Lee should receive at least five carries a game.
