Penn State’s top three defensive ends from this season, Shaka Toney, Shane Simmons and Jayson Oweh, are not expected back next season.

That leaves a huge void in talent and depth at the position in 2021. Isaac, a sophomore, is expected to be Penn State’s top defensive end next season. He already gets ample playing time as a second teamer, and the hope is that playing times continues this season.

There’s no doubt that Isaac will be a capable starter next season, but with the depth around him looking shaky, he’ll need to turn into a star like his predecessors Yetur Gross-Matos and Shaka Toney. Valuable playing time this season should help him get there.
