Week 2 Penn State Football and Big Ten Picks ATS
Penn State +10 vs Ohio State
The prime time clash between No.3 ranked Ohio State and No. 18 ranked Penn State Football will undoubtedly be missing something Saturday night. A fanless “White Out” environment will be a humbling reminder that we are still living through this pandemic.
However, the Penn State Football team will attempt to save its season and avoid an 0-2 start, one that would all but end any playoff hopes the Nittany Lions might have. However, a win, and Penn State is in the drivers seat to win the B10 East and head to Indianapolis. Coming off a crushing overtime loss to Indiana last week, Penn State does have some positives to take into the showdown with the Buckeyes. Penn State outgained the Hoosiers 488-211 yards and controlled the time of possession 40 minutes to 19. The Nittany Lions defense held up well, especially against the run, allowing only 41 yards on 26 carries. If quarterback Sean Clifford can eliminate the mistakes, as well as the lull the offense seemed to go through in the 2nd quarter, they should be able to put up some points on the Buckeyes. Franklin will have his guys ready to play, and a sense of urgency coming off a loss should help to. Nobody is giving Penn State even a punchers chance in this game, however the past four meetings between these two does not point to anything but a close game. Since nobody else will, I’ll do it, Penn State wins ouright.
