Rutgers +13 vs Indiana

Last week I told you to hold your nose and take Rutgers getting the points in East Lansing. Turned out they didn’t need them, as they dominated the Spartans and won outright 38-27. Rutgers undoubtedly was the beneficiary of some fumble luck as the Spartans turned it over five times, while quarterback Rocky Lombardi was intercepted twice.  This is a Rutgers defense that returns seven starters from a year ago, and looked to have a newfound swagger under HC Greg Schiano. On the other side, Indiana too benefitted from sloppy play by Penn State en route to a thrilling 36-35 OT victory over the Nittany Lions. Penn State turned the ball over three times, missed three FG’s and committed 10 penalties. Hoosiers quarterback Michael Pennix was unimpressive throwing for 171 yards and a TD, while the Indiana running game was non-existent. Indiana is coming off only its second ever win over a top-10 team and might be feeling itself a little bit, and I don’t think the Hoosiers are ready to be two touchdown road dogs.

The Pick: Rutgers +13
