Defensive Tackle

Penn State has built quality depth at defensive tackle over the years, but that may start to decrease by the time 2022 rolls around.

Starter Antonio Shelton graduates after this season and the other starter P.J. Mustipher will be draft eligible as well. The depth will still be there in 2022, as seven scholarship defensive tackles will still have eligibility then.

The future is the issue though, as Penn State currently doesn’t have a defensive tackle commit in the 2021 class. They took two in the 2020 class, possibly three if Coziah Izzard moves inside.

The Nittany Lions will most likely have to take two defensive tackles in this class, but it’s not a great year for defensive tackle recruiting in the Northeast in 2022.

Bryce Carter, Caden Curry, KJ Miles and Kwan Williams are earlier names to know. A couple guys currently being recruited as defensive ends who could move inside include Anthony Smith and Dani Dennis-Sutton. Expect this board to be fluid.
