Marquis Wilson (Cornerback)

Wilson preformed well as a true freshman last year, recording 17 tackles and two interceptions. This year, he’s competing with fellow sophomore Keaton Ellis to start opposite of Tariq Castro-Fields at cornerback.

Both of them will see plenty of action as Penn State uses three corners quite often in obvious passing situations, but Wilson adds a special teams dynamic as well.

He is one of the better athletes on the team and was listed as a back-up punt returner on the Spring depth chart that was released. It wouldn’t be a shock to see him become the starter for that duty, because the listed starter was Jahan Dotson and with John Dunmore no longer on the team, Penn State is low on receiver depth.

Whether he starts or not, Wilson will be set to make plenty of big plays for Penn State this season.
