1.  James Franklin’s approach

Like many programs, the perception for the head coach at Penn State is hot and cold. Not everybody can ease up and support the coach no matter what. Therefore, select Penn State fans either absolutely love James Franklin as the coach — or they despise him.

Why would anybody despise the teams’ leader? Well, for obvious reasons. He has struggled to win the critical conference games in the past. We would like to say it’s really not that big of a deal, but that’s just not the case. Regardless of how you feel about Franklin, though, it will be interesting to see his coaching approach live and direct.

As we know, Franklin is the ultimate competitive type of coach. As he lives by the approach of making everybody earn their spot and making it clear that no placement on the depth chart is given, it is earned, his coaching style should be quite motivating for the cameras. Plus, the players seem to genuinely like him as he tends to build up a close relationship with the guys.
