Penn State football: 5 Players to watch vs. Pittsburgh Panthers

3. Tariq Castro-Fields, CB

Last week, Buffalo had a solid gameplan, which featured their quarterback making quick throws, targeting a specific weakness. That assumed weakness happened to be Penn State cornerback, Tariq Castro-Fields.

That’s no slight to Castro-Fields who has played decent up until this point, but we can’t sit here and say he didn’t struggle last week against the Bulls. As Pittsburgh has been game planning all week long for this matchup, they most likely see the weakness in PSU’s secondary.

And the weakness surely isn’t John Reid, who has been playing very well up until this point. This week offers Castro-Fields an opportunity to bounce back and prove that he can be a lockdown corner against an inferior opponent. After that comeback win, Fields should be feeling confident.
