Shareef Miller, DE

Former Penn State pass rusher Shareef Miller’s rookie debut might’ve been the most special out of all on Thursday. As a kid, Miller used to watch the Philadelphia Eagles from the stands at Lincoln Financial Field cheering the team on. As a young adult, he now gets to play in front of the fans at Lincoln Financial Field, and he did so for the first time on Thursday.

Throughout the summer, the former fourth-round pick has been quiet. As there are a handful of former Nittany Lions playing for the Eagles, you would expect both, Miller and Miles Sanders to stand out there since they are the two draft picks. That hasn’t been the case though. While Sanders received a lot of praise thus far, Miller has struggled in the first phase of training camp.

Miller had an opportunity to change that narrative in Philadelphia, but it seems as though his development is going to take a little while. Miller did end up notching his first sack against the Titans, and he did come up with his first three tackles. Overall though, he blended in with the rest of the Eagles defensive line, who seemingly struggled throughout the night. Miller finally had the opportunity to shake the nerves off; now he has to step it up moving forward.
