Miles Sanders, RB

The city of Philadelphia couldn’t wait to see their second-round running back in action. Last year, the New York Giants were fortunate enough to see what their first-round Penn State running back could do in Saquon Barkley. This year, Eagles fans were almost as excited to see what their Penn State running back could do after a promising start to training camp.

Unfortunately, Penn State players were not the highlight of the night in Philadelphia. Sanders got some reps on the offense early on, but he definitely didn’t flash any of the moves he flashed while at Happy Valley. With a total of three carries, Sanders only managed to rack up three yards.

Not to mention, his pass protection, which he struggled with at Penn State was a definite weak spot during his NFL debut as well. The good news is that Sanders is viewed as a top back in a committee, so he will get tons of opportunities all year long. His first taste of NFL action just wasn’t all that great considering he was running behind a backup offensive line.
