A native of Donnsife, Pennsylvania, Glenn Ressler came to Penn State in 1961, and would go on to be one of the more decorated players in program history. A three-year letter winner for the Nittany Lions, Ressler was a dominant figure on both sides of the ball. He played center on the offense and was the man in the middle of the defensive line on the other side of the ball.

In his final season with the Nittany Lions, Ressler actually won the Maxwell Award, as well as being named an All-American in 1964. During his junior season, he had a monster game against No. 1 Ohio State, racking up 15 tackles in the Nittany Lions’ 26-0 upset victory over the Buckeyes.

Ressler finished up his college career by playing in the East-West Shrine Game, as well as the Hula Bowl. His prowess made him a valuable selection for both professional leagues, where he was selected by both organizations.

He was drafted by both the NFL and the AFL in, choosing to play for the Baltimore Colts of the NFL. He would end up winning the 1968 NFL Championship with the Colts, as well as Super Bowl V. Ressler also played in Super Bowl III. He saw his professional career come to an end in 1974, after spending his entire NFL tenure with the Colts.

In 2001, Ressler was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame, and rightfully so, as he was a beast on both sides of the ball during his time at Penn State. He had major success at both levels before hanging them up in 1974, and is widely regarded as one of the best two-way players in the history of the program.
