Offensive Line

Where to begin, this group hasn’t had many positive games this year. Indiana was another troublesome game to add to the list. Both Penn State football’s passing and running game didn’t have the necessary time or holes for a successful night.

McSorley ran for his life at times and suffered an intentional grounding penalty when he was flushed from the pocket. Blitz pick-up didn’t look great and overall it was a rough day. With that said, McSorley fought off the pressure and still managed to have a nice game.

The running game looked worse than any other unit and it’s easy to see that from the box score. Averaging 2.8 yards per rush with the best back in the country is inexcusable. The film didn’t help the line’s case. The push wasn’t violent and looked stagnant.

Luckily for the Lions, the playmakers around this team can operate with an average to below average line. However, it would obviously be a great help if they improved.
