Tamba Hali

One of the most famous plays in Penn State history was executed by defensive end Tamba Hali.

With that play, Penn State sealed a 17-10 win over Ohio State in 2005, which signaled Penn State’s return to prominence after the “dark years”.

Hali was a high energy Nittany Lion and never gave up on a play.  In 2005 he was named an All-American, first team All-Big Ten and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. He led the conference that season with 11 sacks and 17 tackles for loss.  He was a finalist for the Nagurski Trophy and Hendricks Award.

In the 2006 NFL Draft, Hali was selected 20th overall in the first round.
