Penn State vs. Georgia Position Grades

Coaching:
We have seen worse from this coaching staff and I think overall it was an okay performance from them.
It would have taken too much time to install a new offense, so Ricky Rahne did the best he could with what he had to work with. When Hackenberg was in there, he was decent and would have been better if not for a few dropped passes. The interception killed what looked like could be a scoring drive on Penn State’s first possession.
After Hack went down, it took awhile for McSorley to settle in but he had a productive fourth quarter. The play calls in the two minute drill weren’t the best, but I think if they had just a little more time Penn State would have tied it up. They were moving the ball, just not fast enough. To James Franklin’s credit, he used his timeouts wisely late in the game and if it weren’t for a questionable personal foul on Austin Johnson, there might have been more time left for the last drive.
I give credit to the players and coaches for not quitting when they could have easily. The game came down to the last play and while there are no moral victories, it was a great sign that they never gave up.
