Al Golden:  Coach Golden is currently the head coach of the Miami Hurricanes.  What may give Golden a leg up over the competition is his ties to Penn State.  Golden was a player for Nittany Lions squad from 1987-1991 and he was a LB coach in 1990.  From there, Golden branched out and took over the head coaching duties of a struggling Temple football program in 2006.  He was able to turn around the moribund football program and get to a bowl game in 2009.  Golden then moved to the University of Miami for the start of the 2011 season.  Of note, Coach Golden’s name was mentioned as a possible replacement for Joe Paterno in 2012 when Penn State was searching for its last head coach.
