South Carolina at LSU (-2.5)

Fresh off a dominating win against Georgia, the Gamecocks hit the road to Death Valley.  Such is life in the SEC.  LSU looks to rebound following their loss in Gainesville, or risk being left behind in the SEC West.

Matt – South Carolina

I may be missing something, and based on my record, that’s a distinct possibility, but I love the Gamecocks here. LSU’s offense has been a train wreck all season (12 points at Auburn…AUBURN!).  The South Carolina D held a potent Georgia attack to just 7 points last week, and won’t be challenged nearly as much by LSU.  They won’t put up 35 points this week, but half of that could be enough to cover, and they’ll get there.

Tim – LSU

South Carolina getting points from LSU, following the weeks that those two teams had last Saturday seems like an easy bet. Thing is, LSU doesn’t lose too often in Death Valley and all the pressure is on the Gamecocks. I’ll take the LSU defense to shut down Connor Shaw and Marcus Lattimore and win by a field goal, late, at home.

Craig – South Carolina

I feel like this will be a consensus pick here because of last week’s outcome. Death Valley is an incredible atmosphere, but I think South Carolina comes in hotter and I will cheer for the upset.

Corey – South Carolina

The Hat vs the Ol Ball Coach.  It should be a dandy in Death Valley!  LSU is coming off a hard-fought defensive affair, but a loss none-the-less, while South Carolina routed #5 Georgia.  That win was one of Coach Spurrier’s best in Columbia.  The Gamecocks defense is solid, but so is the Tigers.  Look for another defensive struggle in this game with Bengal Tigers managing to get the win outright while South Carolina comes down from their emoional high of last week.  I think LSU wins in a close one, but the half point is enough to allow South Carolina to cover.
