No. 2 Penn State football's road to the national title is just a few days away. Week 1 kicks off at West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium for the Nittany Lions. They'll face their first non-conference opponent to open its 2025 season, the Nevada Wolf Pack, on Saturday, Aug. 30.

Here's everything fans need to know about the game from how to watch to betting odds.

How to watch Week 1 Nevada at Penn State

The season opener can be watched live on CBS or streamed on Paramount+ with kickoff slated for 3:30 p.m. ET.

CBS' top crew will call the afternoon game. Brad Nessler will be doing play-by-play joined by analyst Gary Danielson in the booth and Jenny Dell down on the field. The game will also be carried by Penn State Sports Network on the radio with Steve Jones doing play-by-play, former Nittany Lion linebacker Jack Ham doing color, and Brian Tripp on the sideline.

Penn State faces Nevada for the first time in program history

Though Penn State is familiar with the Mountain West conference with a 6-0 record against it, including last season's 35-21 Fiesta Bowl win over Boise State, it'll be the first time it faces Nevada. The Wolf Pack have not been as successful facing Big Ten opponents as they hold a 2-6 record. The last time they beat a team in the conference was in 2019 against Purdue.

The Nittany Lions are 121-13-1 in home-openers and have won 20 of their last 23 season openers. This will also be the highest-ranked team in Nevada program history it's faced. In 2010, it beat No. 3 Boise State 34-31 in overtime, but have not faced a high-ranking opponent of that level since.
