Former Penn State tight end Tyler Warren made his NFL debut in Thursday night's preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens. The Indianapolis Colts lost 24-16, but Warren showed fans exactly what he can do on a pro level coming off an astounding collegiate career.

"It feels nice to play an actual game, get tackled and stuff, and kind of get back in the flow like that because you haven't done it for a while," Warren said postgame. "But it was good, I think it was a good start."

While a majority of the Colts' projected starters weren't suited up for the match, Warren was sure to get in a few reps to prepare for his rookie season. His anticipated performance did not disappoint and was one of the highlights of Indianapolis' night, especially when considering his less than fortunate quarterback situation he has to work with.

His first catch of the game was on Indianapolis' second offensive snap on a screen pass, but a penalty ruled the seven yard gain null and void. However, the three passes he did complete totaled 40 yards by the end of the night.

"I thought it was good to be out there and do it live in a real, NFL game setting," Warren said. ". . . I thought we were flowing pretty well on offense and I think it was a good start. Still stuff to learn and grow from, but it was good."

Warren's biggest catch of the game came just near the final two minutes of the first quarter. Daniel Jones' first throw of the game was an 11-yard pass and the tight end added 14 more yards after the catch to cross over the 50-yard line and tally a 23-yard gain from the line of scrimmage.

"I think it's just reps and making the most of them when you get them and not really looking at it as a big deal to try and get two different looks, but just doing the job [with] the timing and it all works out," Warren said of getting playing time with both Jones and Richardson.

On second-and-13 early in the first quarter he made a six-yard grab up the middle in traffic from Anthony Richardson before the Florida Gators product sustained a dislocated pinky injury. At the end of the first quarter, he made his second legitimized catch on the out route without any Raven defender traffic, completing the Colts' first-and-10 with a gain of 11.

"It does a lot for us, just different looks, different players," Warren said of using the three preseason games as preparation for the regular season. "Learning from all the film that we get from the preseason, the practices, and the games . . . it'll keep helping us along the way."
