Penn State football safety Dejuan Lane and cornerback Kenneth Woseley Jr. were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia on Friday night, according to WTAJ News. Eighteen-year-old Woseley Jr. is facing an additional charge of purchasing alcohol by a minor.

Both were cited for disorderly conduct as well. The court records read, for creating "hazardous or physically offensive condition."

Cortney Raynor reported that an officer allegedly smelled marijuana around the on-campus Nittany Apartments on July 28. Through an open window on the second floor, he also noticed a plastic bag covering a smoke detector in one of the apartment's bedrooms. As he approached the front door, the odor intensified.

After determining the residents of the apartment, police conducted a search. They allegedly found a black, glass container and two plastic bags suspected to be dusted with marijuana in a trash can in the room alleged to be Lane's. The glass container and dustings tested positive for THC. In the room alleged to be Woseley's, officers found a Muha Meds vape. The cornerback admitted that it contained THC and testing confirmed his statement as well. Police found an unopened bottle of Don Julio tequila in Woseley's room, causing the additional citation he is facing.

The incident as cited on the police crime log states the case was cleared by adult arrest. This means that the criminal case has been resolved due to suspects being arrested and charged, and further action will be taken by the court.

The Nittany Lions have preliminary hearings scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 27, three days before Penn State opens its season against Nevada on Saturday. The hearings will take place in Centre County Court.

According to Raynor, WTAJ News contacted Penn State Athletics and received the following statement from senior associate AD for communications Kristina Petersen:

“We are aware of the allegations against Dejuan Lane and Kenneth Woseley. These alleged actions do not reflect the values and standards of our program and will be addressed. We will not comment any further as this is an ongoing legal matter.”

Lane was competing for a starting safety position for the 2025 season after making appearances in all 16 games in 2024 as a true freshman. He logged 14 tackles, three pass break-ups, and one interception. Woseley Jr. redshirted in 2024 after making four game appearances and posting five tackles. While not competing for a starting role, he was hoping to make a consistent role in Penn State's defensive rotation.
