Penn State football is attacking the pool of four-stars from the Class of 2027, and head coach Matt Campbell isn't stepping off the gas anytime soon.
Penn State OL stud prospect emerging as top 5 talent despite positional value
On Monday, March 9, Hayes Fawcett of On3 reported that the Nittany Lions are in the race for a four-star offensive tackle: Davis Seaman.
Alongside Penn State is a very familiar foe.
Seaman released his top three schools, which included Auburn and Ohio State. While in-state advantages haven't panned out well for Campbell necessarily, that doesn't mean Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day won't capitalize on it. In fact, Day leads the charge to land the four-star prospect.

Penn State makes it into four-star offensive tackle Davis Seaman's top three schools
Seaman is a Columbus, Ohio native and ranked No. 405 overall from the Class of 2027, according to 247Sports Composite rankings. He is also lsited as the No. 20 interior offensive lineman and ranked 16th among athletes from Ohio. Per Rivals, Seaman is ranked as an elite prospect from the class. He is ranked 405th overall, 32nd among offensive tackles, and 15th out of recruits from his state.
Ohio State is the favorite to earn Seaman's commitment. It has a 98.4 percent chance of landing the prospect, according to Rivals, and the Nittany Lions are behind with less than a one percent chance. Still, Penn State is making a case for itself.
Campbell extended Seaman an offer on Dec. 13, 2025 and just over a month later on Jan. 15, offensive line coach Ryan Clanton visited the young high school recruit. On Jan. 31, Seaman took an unofficial visit to Happy Valley.
However, he also made three unofficial visits to Ohio State: Oct. 4, 2025, Nov. 1, 2025, and Jan. 30 the day before he was at Penn State. No visit to Auburn has been recorded, but Seaman took unofficial visits to Vanderbilt and West Virginia as well during his recruitment.
Seaman previously stated that he has high hopes for the Nittany Lions, saying Campbell can "do great things," as reported by College Football HQ on SI. If Campbell pulls through, this can be his first commitment from the Class of 2027.
