Penn State football has yet to earn a Class of 2027 commitment. On Monday, that might all change.

Matt Campbell can't step off the gas with this 4-star edge rusher

Four-star running back Isaiah Rogers made an abrupt announcement regarding timing of his commitment on Saturday, March 28. In the afternoon, he made it known that a decision is coming very soon and that it's down to four teams, including Penn State.

"Forget top schools! I am committing Monday 3/30!" Rogers posted on Twitter/X.

The Nittany Lions are up against Indiana, Georgia, and Notre Dame for the Class of 2027 rusher. He's ranked 237th overall in his class, 15th among running backs, and second out of Massachusetts. Rogers is a Springfield, Mass. native who plays for Springfield Central High School.

In 2025 as a high school junior, Rogers registered 126 carries for 986 yards and 15 touchdowns over 10 games. He had an additioanl 37 catches for 401 yards and three touchdowns. Rogers is also a track and field athlete.

Per 247Sports' director of scouting Andrew Ivins, Rogers has impressive tempo in the run game through traffic and "can spring unexpected chunk plays." Ivins also wrote that the running back is a frequent target in the pass game as well, showing his dual threat abilities as an offensive weapon for whatever college picks him up.

While Rivals has the Fighting Irish as the top team out of the four, Rogers has just one official visit scheduled for the spring/summer session. He will be on the Hoosiers' campus on the weekend of June 12. Rogers visited Notre Dame on March 21 for their Junior Day event.

Per Rivals, the Fighting Irish have an 89.4 percent chance at landing the running back's commitment while the Nittany Lions are second with a 3.6 percent chance.

Things don't seem to be panning out in favor of Penn State. At the moment, it seems like he's Notre Dame's recruit to lose. Rogers visited South Bend, Ind. for the first time in over a yer, per Slap The Sign, and spoke highly of the Fighting Irish head coach Marcus Freeman's staff.

Over the next three days, head coach Matt Campbell and his staff must recruit like they have nothing to lose.
