Robbie Gould was an excellent kicker at Penn State, but he wasn’t drafted because kickers rarely were in the early 2000s. The Chicago Bears signed Gould as a UDFA and we won their kicking battle, starting 2005 as the placekicker. He hit 21 of 27 field goals that year, but in his second season, went 32 of 36 and 47 of 47 on extra points. He was named first-team All-Pro for the first and only time in his 18-year career.
Gould eventually signed with the New York Giants after an 11-year stint with the Bears and finished his career with six seasons in San Francisco. In the playoffs, Gould finished his career a perfect 29 of 29 on field goal attempts with four from 50 or more yards out.
