The 5-foot-9 Drummond was recruited as a running back by Joe Paterno but primarily played wide receiver at Penn State. In 1999, he caught a career-high 35 passes for 652 yards as a sophomore, but his production fell off from there. Drummond’s primary utility was as a kick returner and that’s where he thrived in the league.
Drummond only caught four career passes in the NFL and rushed the ball just nine times for 46 yards, but played for six years, five with Detroit and one in Kansas City. Drummond was one of the league’s best kick and punt returners in the early 2000s. In 2004, he returned two kicks for touchdowns and was named first-team All-Pro.
