Penn State’s Week 4 matchup with Kent State could be threatened by thunderstorm at Beaver Stadium

Penn State’s Week 1 win over West Virginia was delayed by about two hours when thunderstorms rolled through Morgantown, West Virginia. The Nittany Lions held on for a 34-12 victory after the weather cleared, but now Mother Nature is threatening again in Week 4 at Beaver Stadium.
Coming off a Week 3 bye, the 2-0 Nittany Lions are the No. 10 team in the country and are welcoming the 0-3 Kent State Golden Flashes, one week removed from a 71-0 loss to Tennessee in Knoxville. It will be a great chance for Penn State to shake off a questionable performance against another MAC opponent, Bowling Green, who the Nittany Lions beat 34-27 in Week 2, but the weather could have other ideas.
Thunderstorms are expected to roll through Happy Valley shortly after kickoff and while it’s not going to delay kickoff of Penn State’s Week 4 matchup, it could disrupt the flow of things once the game gets under with golden flashes in the sky, not just on the field opposite the Nittany Lions.
The university is monitoring the weather situation, which isn’t quite imminent but will loom over the proceeding this afternoon in Happy Valley.
The sun has peaked through some for the start of the game, but the skies are ominous over Beaver Stadium according to pictures from fans in attendance for Penn State's Military Appreciation Day.
