Penn State’s remaining 2025 recruiting targets and upcoming commitment dates

James Franklin's 2025 class lost a significant piece on Thursday but lost him to the team's current roster in Happy Valley. Now, Penn State needs to land another significant piece before the season gets underway.

On Thursday, when four-star edge rusher Max Granville reclassified and enrolled at Penn State, we discovered that even the 2024 recruiting class was not yet complete, so the 2025 group, which now sits at 21 players, is far from its final form. With Granville, one of that class's headliners, already heading to Happy Valley, James Franklin will be looking to add additional talent and likely land at least one more commitment from the 2024 regular season kicks off.

The 2025 class is ranked at No. 15 in the country and is the fourth-best class in the Big Ten. Its biggest strength is at cornerback with Daryus Dixson and Jahmir Joseph, and with Jayden Woods and Cortez Harris, the edge class is still notable.

However, Penn State still has a few needs, most prominent among them is wide receiver. So, unsurprisingly, many of Franklin and Andy Kotelnicki’s remaining targets on the offensive side of the ball are dynamic four-star pass-catchers.

Jeff Exinor Jr. is Penn State's top wide receiver in the 2025 class, an oversized four-star from Owings Mills, Maryland, who committed at the end of June. He, along with three-star tight ends Brady O'Hara and Matt Henderson, will bring an influx of playmaking talent to Happy Valley next fall, but landing one of the four-star targets still on Franklin's radar would be a coup for the Nittany Lions. Though, they will have to be patient because none of Penn State's remaining 2025 recruiting targets have set a date to announce their commitments.
