Penn State football has never played these FBS teams

The Penn State Nittany Lions have played 93 different FBS teams and have beaten 85 of them, but that still leaves an additional 34 teams that the Nittany Lions have never matched up against. With the expanded playoff, maybe Penn State could meet some first-time opponents, but the limited non-conference schedule will make it tough.

Penn State has not played a lot of non-conference games out west and rarely faces Mountain West teams in bowl matchups. The Nittany Lions are 1-0 against the conference.

SEC

Mississippi State

After facing Ole Miss in the Peach Bowl, the Rebels' Egg Bowl rivals are the only SEC team that Penn State has yet to play. The Nittany Lions are 18-23 against the SEC, but 10-10 in bowl games, including a national championship win over Georgia in the Sugar Bowl.
