Penn State finally chooses a date for the 2024 White Out Game at Beaver Stadium

With Fox potentially putting the Ohio State game in Week 10 as its Big Noon Kickoff Game, Penn State schedules the White Out for Week 11 against Washington.

All offseason, Penn State fans have argued about what game should be featured as the 2024 White Out. On Monday, Penn State itself put the rumors to rest and announced its themes for the 2024 season with the Week 11 matchup against Washington on November 9, slated for the White Out.

There is still not a kickoff time announced for the game, one that Penn State no-doubt hopes will be one NBC at primetime, but the speculative kick times have forced the Nittany Lions to plan the White Out for Washington’s first visit to Beaver Stadium instead of the Week 10 game against Ohio State.

Fox will likely feature Ohio State vs. Penn State as its Big Noon Kickoff game, a deal that has frustrated many Big Ten fans as the conference’s most important games have been stuck amongst a glut of others in the early window. To avoid that early kickoff and allow fans enough time to “prepare” the White Out is best played in primetime.

That’s a big reason why last year’s late-season matchup against Michigan was the Stripe Out, not the White Out, which was scheduled for an early season blow-out win over Iowa. The Stripe Out this season is scheduled for the Ohio State game.

Penn State is 11-8 all-time in the White Out after last season's 31-0 win over the Hawkeyes and has won the last four White Outs. However, the opponents for those games have been Iowa, Minnesota, Auburn, and in 2019 Michigan. Penn State has not hosted Ohio State for the White Out since the 2018 27-26 loss to the Buckeyes.
