How to watch Penn State basketball’s regular season finale vs. Maryland
By Josh Yourish
It’s been a roller coaster ride, but Mike Rhoades’s first season at the helm in Happy Valley is nearing its end. The Nittany Lions had the week off with no game to interfere with preparation for their final regular season game at home against Maryland.
While Penn State’s 75-70 loss to Minnesota last weekend cemented a losing regular season record for this team, Rhoades’s group still has something to play for. Penn State is currently the 11th-place team in the Big Ten, which means playing in the opening round of the Big Ten Tournament in Minneapolis. However, a win, coupled with a loss by either Ohio State or Indiana would bump the Nittany Lions up a few spots and ensure a first-round bye.
Either way, it will be an uphill battle for Ace Baldwin Jr. & co. at the Target Center, but momentum from a win over Maryland wouldn’t hurt. The last time these two teams met, was December 6, and the Terrapins needed overtime to knock off Penn State 81-75. Jahmir Young led the way for the Terps with 28 points and Kanye Clary, who has since been dismissed by the team, was Penn State's leading scorer with 25. The Nittany Lions will look quite different in the rematch, and here’s how you can catch the regular season finale.
