3. No. 7 Penn State 31 vs. No. 24 Iowa 0

September 23, 2023. PSU Iowa. . 483. . No. 7. 491. Attendance: 110,830. No. 24

After four years with Sean Clifford at quarterback, Penn State entered a new era in 2023 with five-star sophomore Drew Allar. Allar was supposed to raise the ceiling on Penn State’s offense and once again gave Penn State CFP aspirations after a Rose Bowl victory in 2022.

Things seemed to be going well after an early-season whiteout win over Iowa. The whiteout crowd easily eclipsed 110,000 for the shutout win. Allar threw for 166 yards and four touchdowns and Manny Diaz’s defense made a strong statement on its way to a No. 1 total defense finish in 2023.

While it was the third-largest crowd in Beaver Stadium history, the 110,830 fans were only the second most that would pack in for a game in the 2023 season.
