The first week of the season wasn’t just a massive success on the field for Penn State with a 34-12 road win over West Virginia in Morgantown. It’s also been a huge success on the recruiting trail for James Franklin and his staff.

After starting 1-0, Penn State scored two wins in the 2025 recruiting class, flipping four-star Portsmouth, Virginia wide receiver Matthew Outten from his Virginia Tech commitment, and landing four-star offensive lineman Malachi Goodman who chose the Nittany Lions over USC and Auburn.

There’s a chance that Penn State landing two commitments on the offensive side of the ball just days after its offense looked much improved under new OC Andy Kotelnicki isn’t a coincidence. Now, Kotlenicki, Drew Allar, and the rest of the offense have a chance to impress even more recruits who will be in attendance for the team’s home opener against Bowling Green on Saturday.

Here’s a list of the eight PSU recruiting targets who will reportedly be visiting Happy Valley this weekend.

  1. Matt Sieg, S, McDonald, PA: 4-star (2026)
  2. Amari Sabb, ATH, Glassboro, NJ: 3-star (2026)
  3. Xavier Sabb, ATH, Glassboro, NJ: 4-star (2027)
  4. Ben Whitver, WR, Powhatan, VA: 0-star (2026)
  5. Myles McAfee, WR, Severn, MD: 4-star (2027)
  6. Jaymier Austin, CB, Murrysville, PA: 0-star (2026)
  7. Javien Robinson, WR, McKeesport, PA: 0-star (2027)
  8. Demari Clemons, CB, Massillon, OH: 3-star (2026)

Penn State's 2025 recruiting class currently ranks No. 13 in the country after the recent additions of Outten and Goodman, and with 25 hard commits to that group, most of Penn State's attention is now to the 2026 and 2027 classes.

Penn State's 2026 class has six players committed, and with four-star quarterback Troy Huhn as the headliner, it ranks No. 2 in the country. The Nittany Lions have just one 2027 commitment, four-star running back Kemon Spell from McKeesport and his high school teammate Javien Robinson will be on campus this upcoming weekend.
