Penn State wrestling had its first match of the season on Friday, Nov. 14 and the Nittany Lions did not disappoint against Oklahoma. With the 2025 championship banner hanging high above them in Bryce Jordan Center, they lived up to their potential and the true freshman proved themselves quickly.

Here are the full results from Friday night's match:

Connor Mirasola filled in for Josh Barr in the 197-pound match. He won by major decision, 13-3, and put Penn State up 4-0 after the first.

The redshirt freshman set the tone for the rest of the night against DJ Parker even without Barr, PJ Duke, or Lucas Cochran.

Cole Mirasola followed his brother with another win. He defeated Juan Mora in a 5-2 decision.

Despite the result, Mirasola was clearly the better of the two. The second round ended in no points for Mirasola, but a third-round takedown secured the victory over Mora.

Penn State went up 7-0 after the Mirasola brothers.

Luke Lilledahl , to no one's surprise, took an early lead and finished with a major decision.

Lilledahl had a 6-2 lead after one, bumping that up to 8-2 after the second round. Conrad Hendrickson could not hang on in the third as Lilledahl lifted him by his calves and put him back down on the ground. The late takedown gave him the 14-4 win and the Nittany Lions an 11-0 lead.

Marcus Blaze had a standout collegiate debut, posting his first technical fall on the college stage.

With nearly 40 seconds left of the second round, Blaze used his leg to send Tyson Charmoli onto the ground, earning a takedown that put him up 10-1. At 5:13, Blaze secured the 18-3 win

Aaron Nagao's match did not go as smoothly as the other Nittany Lions' did.

After two rounds, Nagao was only up 7-5 as Alex Braun secured three more points and Penn State's man only added two. In the third, Nagao just secured the victory, rolling over to flip Braun onto the mat from his feet and keep him in place for the takedown.

The No. 1 wrestler in the country nearly pinned Layton Schneider, but the match was called a technical fall at 5:29.

Shayne Van Ness started with a 3-1 lead that skyrocketed to 14-1 with optimal riding time. Van Ness threw Schneider over his shoulder and controlled the descent onto the mat and was awarded the takedown almost immediately in the second.

Joe Sealy put up the Nittany Lions' second consecutive technical fall of the night.

Sealy replaced Duke for the night and went in as an 0-2 underdog. After a 9-2 start after the first round, Sealy rolled his way into a technical fall in the second round and claimed a win on his record.

Penn State also went up 29-0 after his victory.

Mitchell Mesenbrink dominated early on, almost immediately registering a takedown.

In the first round, Owen Eck had no response to Mesenbrink's instant attack. After allowing Eck to stay on his feet after a near technical fall, Mesenbrink ended the match early. He claimed the 19-4 victory in the first round alone at 2:45.

Levi Haines and Carter Schubert knocked heads in the first few seconds of the match. Haines hit his chin and the match was stopped briefly for the Nittany Lion to go into concussion protocol.

"Just go back, do my thing," Haines said after the night on the Big Ten Network broadcast. "Get on my horse and get going."

After getting the go-ahead, the interuption for potential injury did not halt him from almost coming away with a win in the first. He took a 7-0 lead and came out hot in the second round. Keeping Schubert's legs elevated, Haines had the Sooner in an awkward, uncomfortable position to pin him at 4:15.

Rocco Welsh took a 9-2 lead after one and had a mid-second round takedown to put him up 13-3 over Anders Thompson.

After that, Welsh stayed on top of Thompson and didn't allow him to escape until the very end of the round. Heading into the third, Welsh locked up the Oklahoma wrestler's legs and secured a technical fall.

The Nittany Lions won with a clean sweep over the Sooners, finishing 40-0.
