Penn State hockey head coach Jeff Kampersal earns USCHO Coach of the Year award
Kampersal was named the USCHO Coach of the Year.
Kampersal led the blue and white to the women's hockey Frozen Four after winning the team's first ever NC Women's Ice Hockey Tournament game. They entered the tournament as the No. 3 seed and earned a bye, automatically slotting into the Regional Championship round. They beat UConn 3-0 to punch their ticket to the Frozen Four.
Despite falling to No. 2 Wisconsin, 4-3, in the semifinals, it was still a historic season for Penn State. Under his leadership, the Nittany Lions set single-season win records in back-to-back seasons. In 2025-26, they won 33 contests, their fourth consecutive regular season title, and their fourth consecutive AHA/CHA Championship. Penn State also ranked the highest in polls in program history at No. 3.
In the midst of setting another season record, Kampersal won his 500th game in his career as a coach. He also won the CCM/AHCA Women’s University Division Coach of the Year before his squad went to the Frozen Four.
