Penn State vs. USC how to watch, odds, injuries, weather, and series history
By Josh Yourish
In Week 7, Penn State is heading to the West Coast for the first time in the newly expanded Big Ten. The Nittany Lions expected their matchup with Lincoln Riley’s USC Trojans to be the second-biggest game on the schedule against a ranked opponent, but Riley didn’t hold up his end of the bargain.
Big Ten teams traveling 2+ time zones are 1-8 this season, and that stat includes two losses from USC, first losing to Michigan at the Big House, then last week, dropping another at Minnesota. The Trojans are unranked at 3-2 and could deal a significant blow to Penn State’s College Football Playoff chances with a home upset on Saturday.
Both Michigan and Minnesota leaned on their run game, and with James Franklin expecting to get Nick Singleton back on the field after he missed last week’s 27-11 win over UCLA at Beaver Stadium, Penn State will have one of the most dynamic run games in the country.
It’s Big Ten football in sunny California on CBS. Yeah, we’re all still getting used to that.
