Are the Penn State Nittany Lions about to land an elite playmaker for the second time? That's what everyone is hoping for when it comes to 5-star running back Kemon Spell. Previously, Spell committed to the Nittany Lions in 2024, but backed off that pledge.
Way too early Top 25 predictions already disappointing for Penn State fans
With James Franklin getting fired, it seemed like Notre Dame was in the driver's seat to potentially land his commitment. Well, not so fast. Matt Campbell has been hired by Penn State and he has made Spell, an in-state prospect, a top priority.
Spell will be making his way back to campus this weekend for what could prove to be a life-changing visit. Earlier in the week, 247Sports' Brian Dohn put in a crystal ball pick for the Nittany Lions to land Spell and now On3's Steve Wiltfong has followed suit. Is breaking news on the way in the coming days?

5-star RB Kemon Spell is predicted to commit to Penn State and Matt Campbell
We don't have to tell you that this would be a MASSIVE get for Campbell and Penn State. Campbell is going to want to keep elite talent home and getting things over the line here with the touted running back would send quite the statement.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Spell is ranked five stars, the No. 1 running back in the country, No. 1 player from Pennsylvania and the No. 7 prospect overall for the 2027 class. He's got college superstar written all over him, which is why PSU fans are hoping he decides to sign next December with his home-state squad.
That of course won't be easy. Even if Spell does commit this weekend, which is up in the air right now, it won't stop teams like Notre Dame, Ohio State and others from continuing to recruit him. However, the hope is that Spell will commit this time and stay locked in with his decision. Will that happen this weekend? Stay tuned, as it won't be a shocker at all now if that ends up happening.
