Penn State football head coach Matt Campbell is turning up the heat in 2028 recruiting. After hosting some prospects for camps and workouts throughout the month, they have come back with great reviews on the Nittany Lions and have hinted at them being a top choice for them moving forward in their recruitment.
One of these recruits is four-star edge rusher Luke Nabors.
Nabors is ranked No. 300 nationally and No. 35 at edge rusher, according to Rivals Industry Ratings. Penn State extended an offer on June 20 when he was in Happy Valley for an unofficial visit. Following his time with the Nittany Lions, Nabors pointed out an unorthodox positive of the program.
"The campus is just so peaceful. You don't find too much like that anywhere, really, and that's a plus for me," Nabors told Tyler Calvaruso of Lions247.

Penn State offers four-star, Class of 2028 edge rusher Luke Nabors on unofficial visit
Nabors has also picked up offers from Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Michigan. While it's still on the earlier side in his recruitment, the edge rusher already has 34 offers stacked up in total.
In 2025, Nabors totaled 12 tackles, two quarterback hurries, one tackle for loss, and one sack over eight games, according to his MaxPreps stats.
The campus environment won't exclusively secure Nabors when going up against teams that have no problem extending generous offers to their prospects. He is also a Georgia native, making it even more difficult to pluck him out of the SEC's hands. However, Campbell proved he can compete for recruits who live in the South after landing three-star, 2027 cornerback Dhillon McGee over SMU and Texas.
Campbell has also gone to work recruiting four-star edge rusher George Parkinson IV. He took his sixth unofficial visit and third visit since Campbell's been in charge over the weekend. Like Nabors, Parkinson IV had nothing but positive things to say about the Nittany Lions, saying they're a top contender for his commitment.
Penn State didn't dominate in recruiting 2027 edge rushers. Four-star Kei'Shjuan Telfair and three-star Carter Blattner are the only committed defensive ends in the class. Making strides with blue-chip recruits, especially at positions Campbell didn't hit the jackpot with in this current cycle, is essential for his future classes.
So far, the Nittany Lions have two 2028 commits. Four-star cornerback Deonte Flemings Jr. committed after his Junior Day visit at the end of January, and kicker Carter Petri is the most recent prospect Campbell landed.
