The Penn State football team is on a roll with the way Friday, June 27's recruitment is progressing. Earlier in the day, the Nittany Lions landed four-star edge recruit Jackson Ford over three Big Ten schools to complete their defensive group from the class of 2026. Most recently, offensive tackle Jack Fuchs announced his commitment.
Fuchs is also the son of Tennessee Titan assistant offensive line coach Scott Fuchs, who attended North Dakota State and acted as the offensive line coach from 2009-2013 in the midst of his coaching career.
The three-star recruit is ranked No. 658 overall in the country. Fuchs is also the No. 57 overall offensive tackle and No. 18 student-athlete out of Tennessee. At Beech High School in Hendersonville, Tenn., Fuchs is a two-sport athlete. He also participates in track and field, getting reps in the javelin and shot put events.
Kentucky and Indiana were the other two schools up for consideration. These were the only two teams aside from Penn State that Fuchs visited. The Wildcats hosted the recruit first on June 6 and the Hoosiers followed on June 13. Kentucky ended up making Fuchs' final two, but ultimately Penn State reigned supreme in the rising senior's mind.

He most recently visited Penn State over the weekend of June 20, but his visit to Happy Valley for a spring practice back in April is what put the Nittany Lions over the edge for the recruit. Over this four-day visit, Fuchs scheduled his official visit date during that time on campus and met with various members of the coaching staff: head coach James Franklin, offensive line coach Phil Trautwein, and offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki. Kotelnicki, according to 247Sports, also has a strong relationship with Fuchs' father. The two coached together at Buffalo and Kansas.
With being six-feet-eight-inches, Fuchs will fit right into Penn State's offensive line identity. As linemen start filtering out of the program either due to eligibility or entering the NFL Draft, the Nittany Lions will need to bring in young players to start developing as soon as they hit campus to hopefully fill in the shoes of Vega Ioane, Nolan Rucci, and Nick Dawkins among others.
Fuchs joins three other offensive linemen from the class of 2026. Four-star Kevin Brown is the headliner of this crew, followed by three-star Roseby Lubintus and three-star interior offensive lineman Benjamin Eziuka. He is also the 22nd commit for Penn State and the second of the day, giving the Nittany Lions a boost of confidence given their less than fortunate recent recruitment history.
