The 17-game 2026 regular season schedule for the Penn State Nittany Lions field hockey team was solidified in late June, with the only change since then being a location switch for the Delaware game.
That contest on Sunday, September 6 is now set to be held at the Penn State Field Hockey Complex, giving the Nittany Lions a stretch of six consecutive games at Char Morett-Curtiss to open up the season.
This past week, the Big Ten also confirmed that seven regular season games, featuring all nine Big Ten teams at least once, are set to be nationally televised on Big Ten Network during the 2026 regular season.
Penn State lands nationally televised BTN game against Ohio State
Penn State is set to be featured once, with their matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday, October 16 in line to be broadcast live from State College beginning at 5:00 p.m. ET.
It's a game that could prove crucial when it comes to Penn State's aspirations of returning to the postseason for the first time in three years. Their 2025 game against Ohio State ultimately ended up being for the seventh and final seed in the Big Ten Tournament, and it was won 2-0 by the Buckeyes.
Nevertheless, it marks a return to national TV for a team that got somewhat of a raw deal in that regard just one year ago.

Penn State hasn't had a game shown live on BTN from start to finish since October 2024, when their road contest against Ohio State, a 4-0 loss, was televised.
BTN is also set to air the two Big Ten Tournament semifinal games and the championship game in November. Penn State most recently qualified for the Big Ten Tournament in 2023, and they most recently advanced to the semifinals in 2021. They most recently made it to the championship in 2019, with their most recent title coming in 2016.
