No. 10/10 Penn State men's hockey's Big Ten Tournament run may be over, but the Nittany Lions are still alive in hopes of making the NCAA Tournament.

The Ohio State upset over MSU should be a major wakeup call for the Nittany Lions

In the meantime, Penn State's 2025-26 team racked up the Big Ten accolades in the wake of the regular season.

Penn State men's hockey earns six Big Ten awards following 2025-26 campaign

The Nittany Lions earned six Big Ten awards: Freshman of the Year, two All-Big Second Team selections, and four All-Big Honorable Mentions.

To no surprise, forward Gavin McKenna skated his way to the top of the conference's group of freshman.

McKenna is the first Penn State player to earn the Big Ten Freshman of the Year award and was also the first to earn the Big Ten Scoring Champion honor. He had 38 points on 11 goals and 27 assists over 24 Big Ten regular season contests.

McKenna was named to the All-Big Freshman Team as well and made it onto the All-Big Second Team.

Defenseman Jackson Smith joined McKenna on both teams as well. Smith led defensemen in the conference with 11 goals and 15 assists, which is also good for fourth across the country, according to Onward State.

Freshman goaltender Josh Fleming earned an honorable mention on the season after emerging as Penn State's prime netminder.

Joining Fleming as honorable mentions are forwards Aiden Fink and Matt DiMarsico, and defenseman Jarod Crespo.

Fink became the fastest Nittany Lion to reach 100 collegiate career points. He has 38 points on the 2025-26 season from 10 goals and 28 assists. DiMarsico logged 42 points on 18 goals and 24 assists. Crespo had 17 points on five goals and 12 assists and also registered 46 blocks.

Fleming holds a 10-6-2 record, making 581 saves and allowing just 49 goals. He holds a .922 save percentage on the season.

The Big Ten Tournament concludes Saturday, March 21 and either No. 1/1 Michigan or unranked Ohio State will be crowned the champion.
