While the rest of the college sports world is preparing to fill out their March Madness brackets, Penn State fans are getting ready to watch their Nittany Lions dominate the Big Ten Wrestling Championships in Evanston, Illinois on Saturday, March 8, and Sunday, March 9.
Cael Sanderson’s unbeaten Penn State squad enters the postseason with five top-seeded wrestlers in the Big Ten Championships and their sights set on conference and national championships.
With eight team titles, Penn State is even with Michigan State for the sixth-most in conference history, well shy of Iowa’s 37. However, all eight of those championships have come since 2011 when the Nittany Lions became the dominant force in the sport. Penn State is the two-time defending Big Ten champs and has won 11 of the sport’s last 13 national titles.
After another undefeated regular season, Sanderson is looking to add some more hardware to the Penn State trophy case this weekend. Here’s how you can watch the Big Ten Wrestling Championships:
