Beaver Stadium underwent significant renovations, even if only for a short amount of time, in preparation for the first outdoor hockey game in Penn State history.

The women's team takes the ice first on Friday, facing Robert Morris. Penn State just beat Syracuse, 3-2, and currently holds a 22-4 overall, 15-1 American Hockey Association record. The team is currently ranked fourth in the country. Before the highly anticipated outdoor game, the Nittany Lions face Delaware at home.
The Colonials previously faced Penn State in November. The blue and white dominated in two consecutive, 4-0 wins. That series was held at Robert Morris, and now the Colonials get to experience an outdoor sheet in hopes of knocking Penn State down a peg. The women's series caps off with a 6 p.m. ET game at Pegula Ice Arena on Saturday.
Before that women's rematch on Saturday, the men's team takes on daunting Michigan State at Beaver Stadium.
The No. 8 Nittany Lions swept Notre Dame in their most recent series and faces No. 5 Wisconsin on the road next. They are currently 16-6 overall and 8-4 in the Big Ten, and head into the series versus the Badgers on a hot, five-game win streak.
Following Wisconsin, Penn State has an opportunity to knock down the second-ranked Spartans. They are ranked just below Michigan with a 17-5 record and 8-4 conference record. The last time these two teams met, Michigan State swept the Nittany Lions, beating them in overtime, 2-1, then shut them out in a 5-0 night two battle.
The Spartans face unranked Minnesota at home before the week before their second series with Penn State. When arriving at State College, the teams will face off at Pegula Ice Arena at 6 p.m. ET. That contest will be streamed on Big Ten+ and Saturday's game at Beaver Stadium will be live on Big Ten Network.
Puck drop for both matchups is set for 1 p.m. ET. Admission to the women's game is free of charge and tickets to the men's game can be purchased via Ticketmaster.
